Russian Strikes Kill One and Wound Eight in Overnight Drone Attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv

A Russian strike on the village of Malokaterynivka in the Zaporizhzhia region killed one person and injured two others, while a massive Russian drone attack on Kharkiv left eight people wounded, regional governor Ivan Fedoriv and Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) reported on April 2.

In total, Russian forces carried out 459 attacks on nine settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours:
Five airstrikes targeted Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, and Shcherbaky.
277 drones of various types struck Malokaterynivka, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka.
Five multiple-launch rocket system attacks hit Kamianske, Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodarivka.
172 artillery shellings were recorded in Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka.
Authorities received 26 reports of damage to private homes, apartments, and vehicles.
Meanwhile, in Kharkiv, Russia launched a massive drone strike overnight, injuring eight people, including three children.
The attack targeted two civilian enterprises in the city’s Kholodnohirskyi district, sparking three fires covering 1,000, 800, and 70 square meters. As of 9:06 a.m. EET, firefighters had extinguished the blazes, which covered a total area of 1,870 square meters.

The drone attack also damaged several nearby private homes. All of the injured reportedly suffered acute stress reactions.
Earlier, Russian forces carried out five airstrikes using guided aerial bombs on a frontline community in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing one civilian and injuring two others.
