Russia Launches Massive Assault on Ukraine’s Power Grid With Drones, Cruise and Hypersonic Missiles Across All Regions
Ukraine faced a large-scale combined missile and drone attack early this morning, with Russia deploying Kh-47M2 Kindzhal hypersonic missiles from MiG-31K jets, launching Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on December 13.
Explosions were reported in several regions, including Odesa, Kherson, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Lviv, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Chernihiv.
Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko stated that the country’s energy infrastructure was a primary target in the strikes.
In Kherson, 2 civilians, a man aged 35 and a woman aged 50, were injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, in the village of Myrne in the Kharkiv region, Russian forces struck a civilian enterprise, wounding 4 workers.
At night, Russia attacked Chernihiv region with drones – hitting a farm, and killing 11 cows in the Nizhyn district.
Two private houses were damaged in Chernihiv district, as well as a gymnasium, residential buildings, and outbuildings in Pryluchchyna.
US Ambassador in Ukraine Bridget Brink wrote on X that “Russia has launched a barrage of ballistic missiles, targeting energy systems, transport networks, and key facilities across the country.”
The head of the Ivano-Frankivsk region reported that the region suffered the most massive attack since the start of the full-scale war.
The attacks targeted critical infrastructure, there is damage, but no casualties.
Poland scrambled its fighter jets in response to the Russian missile strikes on the west of Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Zlatopil in the Lozova district of the Kharkiv region, injuring 10 people and damaging an administrative building, several non-residential buildings, and civilian vehicles.
