During a large-scale overnight attack on March 28, Russian forces damaged gas production facilities belonging to Ukraine’s state energy company Naftogaz, the company reported on March 28 on its website.

This marks the 18th combined attack on Naftogaz Group infrastructure since the start of the full-scale war and the eighth such incident in 2025 alone.

Naftogaz specialists are currently assessing the damage and working to mitigate the consequences of the strike. According to the company, no injuries were reported as a result of the shelling.

“This new strike is not just an attack on our infrastructure — it’s an attempt to undermine the country’s energy stability. Our specialists are already working to assess the damage and address the consequences. Restoration will begin immediately to ensure uninterrupted gas supply, ‘ the company wrote.

On March 27, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted the Russian Ministry of Defense’s claims about Ukraine allegedly violating the terms of the ceasefire on attacks against energy infrastructure.
