Russia Warns US Against “Even Speculative or Hypothetical” Military Aid to Israel

Russia has issued a pointed warning to the United States over any direct military support for Israel, saying such moves—even speculative ones—could further destabilize the already tense situation in the Middle East, according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, Russian media Interfax reported on June 18.
Moscow strongly advises Washington against pursuing or even discussing potential direct military assistance to Israel.
“The United States is constantly at the forefront of all international processes, and to say now that they haven’t intervened in the past but might do so now would be incorrect,” Ryabkov said.

“What matters is how they view the idea of providing direct military aid to Israel. From our side, we caution the United States against even speculative or hypothetical scenarios of this kind.”
Ryabkov emphasized that any such move by Washington, whether real or rhetorical, could seriously escalate tensions across the region.
He warned that actions like this “would radically destabilize the region.”
Earlier, European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin “cannot be trusted” to mediate peace in the Middle East while continuing to wage war on civilians in Ukraine.
