Russian Airstrike With Guided Bomb Destroys Home in Kharkiv Region, Killing 48-Year-Old Man

A Russian airstrike on a village in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region early Monday destroyed a residential home and killed a 48-year-old man, Kharkiv regional prosecutors office reported on April 7.
The attack occurred around 5:40 am when a Russian guided aerial bomb struck the private sector of the village of Tokarivka Druha in the Kharkiv district.
The strike destroyed a civilian home and wounded two women, aged 75 and 51, triggering severe stress reactions.
“The exact type of aerial munition used in the strike is currently being determined,” prosecutors said.
Earlier, the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine visited the site of a Russian missile strike in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, which resulted in the deaths of 19 civilians, including nine children.
The attack, carried out on April 4, was described by the UN as the deadliest single strike against children since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022.
“It’s an unimaginable horror — nine children killed, most while playing in a park, as a military weapon exploded into shrapnel above them,” said the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk.
“A single explosion ended 18 lives on a warm Friday evening in Kryvyi Rih, as families gathered near a playground, a restaurant and residential buildings.”
