US President Donald Trump has revealed that Washington is in communication with the Kremlin to end Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, Trump stated, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on April 6.
“We are talking to Russia. We would like them to stop,” Trump said. “I don’t like the bombing, the bombing goes on and on, and every week thousands of young people are being killed.”
Previously, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that President Trump would not “fall into the trap of endless negotiations,” and it would soon be clear if Russia was serious about peace.
“We will not continue this forever. We have a certain time when we will wait. We want to see during this time whether they are ready for peace or not. And the time is coming.”
Earlier, reports emerged that according to the Ukrainian Air Force, the number of Russian drone strikes on Ukraine surged by over 50% since the start of peace negotiations initiated by the United States.
Over the 30 days following February 18, when US-Russia talks about ending the war began, Russia carried out about 4,776 drone strikes, compared to 3,148 in the 30 days prior.
