Russian Airstrikes Hit Kirovohrad and Zaporizhzhia Leaving One Dead and Rail Infrastructure Damaged

On the night of September 23, Russian forces launched new strikes on Kirovohrad and Zaporizhzhia regions, targeting transportation and civilian infrastructure.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, five passenger trains were delayed due to the attack on railway infrastructure in the Kirovohrad region: Odesa–Dnipro, Odesa–Kryvyi Rih, Odesa–Zaporizhzhia, Lviv–Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa–Kramatorsk.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported damage to one infrastructure facility. No casualties were recorded, and all emergency services are working at the scene.
Meanwhile, in Zaporizhzhia, one man was killed in an airstrike. The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, confirmed the attack.

“Overnight, Russians hit the regional center with air-dropped bombs. They struck private housing and industrial infrastructure,” his statement said.
Rescuers later recovered the body of the deceased from the rubble.
Earlier, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine determined that Russian Telegram channels—operated by perpetrators of attacks or individuals connected to Russian drone units—are committing a war crime by spreading videos showing Ukrainian civilians being killed or injured.
