Russian Airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia Kill 1, Injure 4, Including 2 Children

On September 23, after 9:00 p.m. local time, the Russian army launched a series of airstrikes on the regional center of Zaporizhzhia over a span of two hours.

As a result of massive airstrikes, one man was killed, and four others were injured, including two children, reports State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to preliminary information, the strike was carried out with six KAB bombs.

“The enemy struck a residential area. One house was destroyed, and another was severely damaged. Rescuers extinguished fires at a utility building, a garage, and an open area. During the rescue operations, volunteers rescued a dog from the destroyed house and handed it over to the neighbors,” the statement reads.

Over 100 houses were damaged.

A total of 67 rescuers and 13 units of equipment were involved in the operations.

Police officers, bomb disposal experts, volunteers from the Rapid Response Unit of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, and other specialized city services are working at the scene.
