Russian Army Launched 78 Shahed Drones on Ukraine, Injuring 10 and Killing 2
Russia launched an aerial attack on Ukraine during the night and morning of September 26, using 78 "Shahed" attack drones and six missiles.
According to the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Sumy region was attacked with two missiles of an unidentified type, and the Odesa region was hit with four guided X-59/69 aviation missiles.
66 attack drones and four guided aviation missiles were shot down.
Russian forces launched more than 15 drones toward Kyiv Air defense operations lasted for five hours, during which Ukrainian forces shot down around 10 drones.
As a result of this attack, debris caused a gas pipe in a residential building to depressurize in the Pecherskyi district. Around 20 cars were damaged. Debris also fell on the grounds of a kindergarten. At this moment, there are no reported casualties in Kyiv.
As a result of the night shelling of Zaporizhzhia, 10 people were injured, including a child.
Russian forces targeted houses and the premises of a local enterprise. Rescuers evacuated 18 people. Eleven private homes and a three-story building were destroyed.
Ivano-Frankivsk was partially left without power. A critical infrastructure facility was damaged. There was a fire, which has since been extinguished.
Russian forces also attacked Odesa with missiles and drones, resulting in the death of a woman. Later, the Odesa Regional Military Administration confirmed the death of a man in the hospital who had been injured during the attack. Buildings and cars were damaged. There was also a grass fire, which rescuers quickly extinguished, reported Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa Regional Military Administration.
In Mykolaiv, Russian army targeted an energy infrastructure facility in the region, causing power outages.
Air defense was active in 14 regions of Ukraine: Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Sumy, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, and Kharkiv.
