Russian Assault Boat Destroyed as Ukrainian Marines Thwart Dnipro River Landing Attempt, Video

Ukrainian marines from the 40th Coastal Defense Brigade stopped an attempted Russian landing on the Dnipro River, destroying a boat carrying an assault group that was moving toward Ukrainian positions. The incident was documented on video published by the brigade on October 29 and reported by ArmyInform.
According to the unit, a Russian group tried to cross the river covertly and approach Ukrainian lines on the left bank of the Dnipro for what the brigade described as “diversionary actions.”
Ukrainian observers detected the movement and opened fire on the boat before it could reach the shore.
“A vivid video of the destruction of a boat with an enemy landing party that wanted to get to our positions on the Dnipro. The 2nd Battalion of the 40th Coastal Defense Brigade disrupted the occupiers’ plans,” the brigade said in an official statement.
The brigade has previously shown operations in which it employed an unmanned surface vessel, described as a “Barracuda” drone boat, to deliver FPV drones for strikes against Russian boats without exposing Ukrainian personnel.
In earlier statements, the Southern Defense Forces said these Russian groups are sent across the river to probe defenses, plant mines, or adjust fire, and are then frequently targeted and destroyed in the water.
Meanwhile, Russian forces in the Kherson sector were preparing a large-scale river assault across the Dnipro using around 300 boats, and Ukrainian defenders were actively disrupting attempts to land troops on the islands controlled by Ukraine.
