Russian Attack Causes Fire in Residential Building in Kharkiv Region

On the morning of March 1, Russian forces launched an attack on the Kupiansk community in the Kharkiv region. A residential nine-story building in the settlement of Kivsharivka caught fire as a result of the shelling, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES).

Emergency responders worked to extinguish the fire while facing the risk of repeated attacks. The SES reported that there were no casualties or injuries. However, Russian forces continue to target civilian areas in the region.

Authorities are assessing the aftermath of the attack as rescue operations continue.

Earlier, Russian forces carried out a large-scale drone attack on Kharkiv, striking residential areas, a medical facility, and commercial zones. According to the National Police of Ukraine, at least nine impacts were recorded across multiple districts, injuring seven civilians. The attack triggered fires, including at a medical facility and a private home, while emergency services worked to assist the injured and contain the damage.
