Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on the Cherkasy region on April 28, injuring six people and inflicting significant damage on a gas infrastructure facility, leaving approximately 117,000 residents without a gas supply.

The information was provided by Ihor Taburets, head of the regional military administration, as reported by Suspilne.

According to Taburets, it will take approximately two to three days to restore gas service.

“The last Shahed drone was shot down at 12:30 p.m. In total, about 25 drones were detected. We heard explosions both from downed or damaged drones crashing and from direct hits on infrastructure. Among the targets struck was a critical infrastructure site—the gas transportation network,” he explained.

Between April 1 and April 24, 2025, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine confirmed at least 848 civilian casualties from Russian attacks, 151 people killed and 697 injured.
