Russian Drones Strike Dnipro’s Downtown, Causing Devastating Damage in Densely Populated Area

Russian forces launched a drone attack on Dnipro, the third largest city in Ukraine population-wise, injuring at least three people.
More than 10 high-rise buildings, businesses, an educational institution, and dozens of vehicles were damaged during the attack.

This was reported by the Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, on March 27.

“Three people were injured, a 48-year-old man and two women, aged 75 and 78. All received assistance on-site. The city’s businesses, educational and cultural institutions, and more than a dozen high-rise buildings were damaged. Over 60 cars were damaged, with several completely destroyed. Two trucks were also affected,” Lysak wrote.

Iryna, a resident of one of the residential buildings, says she was at home when the explosions occurred, Suspilne reported. She explained that while her apartment suffered no damage, her car was heavily damaged.
“It was incredibly loud, that’s an understatement. It was so loud. My window was open on the other side, and if it had been closed, everything would have shattered. The car’s windows are shattered, everything is bent, the roof is dented,” Irina, a local resident, shared.

The news outlet shared the story of Antonina, who recalled that when the explosions started, they quickly grabbed their child and ran into the corridor. Due to the shattered glass, their cat was injured.
“There were explosions, one after another. At some point, they got closer and closer. My daughter was sleeping in another room. We quickly grabbed her and managed to get away from the windows into the corridor. There’s blood everywhere here. The cat scratched itself on the glass; it was in the kitchen. All the windows are shattered. We’re a bit in shock, if that’s what you can call it,” she says.
On March 23, Russian forces launched a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and its region, killing three people and injuring at least ten.
