Russian forces are intensifying their assaults in the Kursk region, launching attacks every 10 to 15 minutes against Ukrainian positions, according to Vadym Mysnyk, spokesperson for the Eastern Operational-Tactical Unit (OTU) Siversk.

According to Mysnyk, an estimated 45,000 to 50,000 Russian troops are concentrated in the area. This includes units from the Marine Corps brigades of the Pacific Fleet’s 155th Brigade and the Black Sea Fleet’s 810th Brigade, as well as airborne divisions and special forces battalions, all contributing to the sustained pressure on Ukrainian positions.

Mysnyk emphasized that the Russian forces aim to force Ukrainian defenders out of the region. Despite heavy losses on the Russian side, the intensity of the battles remains high. According to the spokesperson, the Russian forces initially uses armored vehicles for assaults, but once these vehicles are destroyed by Ukrainian forces, smaller infantry units are deployed.

“We are observing intervals of just 10 to 15 minutes between each assault by storm groups,” Mysnyk noted.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed the situation in the Kursk region, stating that Ukrainian forces are holding back a 50,000-strong enemy group.

In his evening address, he emphasized that thanks to the success of the Kursk operation, tens of thousands of Russian soldiers cannot be redeployed to other parts of the front, significantly complicating the situation for Russian forces.

As previously reported, Russia has reportedly assembled a group of 50,000 troops, including North Korean units, in the Kursk region for a planned offensive against Ukrainian positions. North Korean soldiers have been training alongside Russian forces in the region, with an attack involving these units expected in the coming days.
