Russian Forces Launch Combined Rocket and Drone Strike on Zhytomyr, Leaving One Dead and Five Injured

On April 3, Russian forces launched a combined rocket and drone strike on residential areas and civilian infrastructure in the Zhytomyr region, resulting in significant damage and casualties.
According to the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, one person has been killed, and five others have been rescued from the debris by emergency services.

Preliminary reports indicate that 18 buildings have been destroyed in the northern part of the region, including nine residential homes. More than 100 homes, over 55 farm buildings, and two shops have also sustained significant damage.
As of now, the death toll remains at one—a 70-year-old woman—while five other residents of the region have suffered injuries.

Emergency responders continue their work on the ground, with efforts focused on locating any survivors and managing the aftermath of the attack.
The region remains on high alert as authorities continue to assess the full extent of the damage and provide necessary assistance to affected residents.

The same day, on April 3, a Russian attack on the Kyiv region resulted in one death and eight injuries, including a child.
The affected areas include the Bucha, Fastiv, and Obukhiv districts.
The State Emergency Service reported that in Bucha, one individual was killed, and firefighters successfully put out a car fire. The Bucha district, which includes Vyshneve, also saw a drone crash into the yard of a local school and kindergarten.
