Russian Intelligence Alleges Serbian Defense Firms Secretly Supply Ammunition to Ukraine

Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) claims that Serbian defense companies continue to supply ammunition to Kyiv despite Serbia’s official declaration of neutrality.
In a press release released on May 28, titled “Serbia’s Military Industry Attempts to Shoot Russia in the Back,” the SVR alleges that Serbian arms manufacturers have “contributed to the war instigated by the West” by providing “hundreds of thousands of rockets for multiple-launch rocket systems and howitzers, as well as one million rounds of small arms ammunition.”
The SVR asserts that these deliveries are facilitated through fake end-user certificates and intermediary countries, naming Czechia, Poland, and Bulgaria among them. The release adds, “It is hardly possible to justify these shipments on humanitarian grounds. Their clear purpose is to kill and maim Russian military personnel and Russian civilians.”

The agency also listed Serbian defense companies involved in the so-called “conveyor of death.”
“It appears that the desire of Serbian arms manufacturers and their patrons to profit from the blood of brotherly Slavic peoples has made them completely forget who their true friends and enemies are,” the SVR stated.
They reminded that “Russia has repeatedly come to the aid of the Serbs during the most critical moments in their history.”
On April 16, it was reported that dozens of members of Russia’s political, military, and business elite have obtained Serbian citizenship since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
