On the evening of October 1, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that a Russian missile had struck central Balakliia in the Kharkiv region.
The impact near a five-story residential building triggered a fire that spread to an apartment on the top floor and several nearby cars.
A 70-year-old woman was killed and nine others were injured. Details about the casualties are still being confirmed.
Previously, it was reported that Russia launched another overnight attack on Kharkiv, striking the city with guided aerial bombs. The assault left at least eight people injured and caused widespread destruction across multiple districts.
