Russian Night Drone Strike on Pavlohrad Leaves One Dead, Multiple Homes Burning

Russian forces launched a drone attack on the city of Pavlohrad in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region overnight, killing one civilian and setting multiple homes on fire, regional officials said on December 12.
According to the regional military administration, five residential buildings caught fire as a result of the strike. One of the homes was destroyed.

“Overnight, the Russians attacked Pavlohrad with UAVs. A 71-year-old local resident was killed. My condolences to his family and loved ones. Four more people were injured. These include a man and three women. A 54-year-old local woman is in serious condition with burns,” the regional administration said in a statement posted on Telegram.
Emergency services extinguished all fires that broke out during the attack, officials said. The regional governor also reported additional damage elsewhere in the region.
“Due to a drone strike, a fire also broke out in the Vasylkivka community of the Synelnykove district. An extension attached to a garage was burning,” the head of the regional administration added.
Earlier in the evening, Russian forces continued shelling the Nikopol district, officials said. Explosions were reported in the district center and the Pokrovske community, where a private home and a vehicle were damaged.
Ukrainian military officials reported that air defense units shot down six Russian drones over the Dnipropetrovsk region during the night.
Earlier, Russian forces dropped a guided bomb on a store in the Velykopysarivka community in the Sumy region, resulting in casualties and injuries.
