Russia has seemingly reassigned Strategic Rocket Forces personnel to serve in the infantry.

A video with a corresponding statement was released by Russian activists helping the newly formed unit with material support.

"Today, the 1st Regiment of the Strategic Rocket Forces, which performs the tasks of a regular separate rifle regiment in the Kursk direction, received the means of communication from us again," said the Russian activist and volunteer Vladimir Grubnik.

He suggests that their involvement stems from a lack of mobilization and a critical personnel shortage in front-line units, necessitating the reassignment of contractors from "non-infantry" divisions, including the Strategic Rocket Forces and the Russian Aerospace Forces.

According to the Ukrainian outlet Militarnyi, which analyzed the publications of Russian activists, a conclusion can be made that the beginning of the formation of these units and their first dispatch to the combat zone took place at the end of the summer of 2024.
