Russian soldiers are increasingly willing to cooperate with Ukrainian forces, as evidenced by a recent successful strike on Russian T-62 tanks in the Zaporizhzhia sector, the partisan movement ATESH reported on August 1.

The operation was made possible thanks to intelligence provided by a Russian serviceman embedded within the 57th Separate Brigade, who passed along the coordinates of camouflaged tanks to ATESH agents. Ukraine’s Defense Forces then conducted a precise strike, destroying the equipment.

According to ATESH, a growing number of Russian troops are actively reaching out to Ukrainian forces with offers of cooperation.

The movement has observed a rise in intelligence leaks on Russian troop movements and command posts, as well as internal sabotage, including the intentional disabling of military vehicles by Russian personnel themselves.

On the other hand, Russia continues to expand its recruitment and intelligence efforts involving foreign nationals. In Kyiv, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the arrest of two Chinese citizens—a 24-year-old former student and his father—who attempted to smuggle classified technical documentation related to Ukraine’s "Neptune" missile system to China.

Earlier, Colombian authorities detained 21-year-old Jesús Ramos Santos, who is wanted by Lithuania on charges of espionage and suspected involvement in a terrorist plot connected to Russia’s war against Ukraine. The arrest took place in the city of Barranquilla, the Colombian National Police confirmed.
