Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar partisans from the Atesh movement carried out a sabotage operation near the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol in Zaporizhzhia region, setting fire to a Russian military “Ural” truck.

According to a statement published on the group’s Telegram on June 12, the operation was timed as a symbolic message to Russian forces on Russia Day. Several Russian soldiers from the duty shift were reportedly killed in the explosion.

The incident occurred in the Melitopol district, a known logistical hub for Russian forces where personnel and ammunition are frequently transported.

“This is not just an act of sabotage—it is a clear signal that no occupier is safe, even deep behind the front lines. We act systematically and with purpose,” the partisan movement stated.

Atesh emphasized that its agents continue to operate across temporarily occupied territories and warned that “the enemy will continue to burn.”

Earlier, Atesh partisans had reported the destruction of a vehicle used by Russian drone operators in the temporarily occupied Henichesk district of Kherson region.

According to the movement, the vehicle belonged to a Russian UAV unit and was equipped with electronic warfare systems.
