Russia Increases Patrols at Crimea Airbases, Following Strikes on Strategic Airfields

After coordinated Ukrainian drone strikes on the Russian airfields Belaya, Dyagilevo, Olenya, and Ivanovo, Russian forces tightened security at military airbases across temporarily occupied Crimea.
According to the partisan movement Atesh on June 3, which cited sources within the Russian Armed Forces, air defense units have intensified perimeter patrols at key airfields.
“After the large-scale Ukrainian UAV attacks on strategic bases on June 1, Russian forces reassessed their airfield security protocols in Crimea. According to our agents within the Russian Armed Forces, air defense units have increased perimeter patrols around airfields in Saky, Dzhankoi, and Hvardiiske,” the statement said.

The adjustments came after the June 1 attacks that targeted strategic bomber bases deep inside Russian territory.
Russian personnel reportedly complain of exhaustion due to round-the-clock shifts, as the available manpower is insufficient to meet increased security demands.
At the same time, Russian forces have significantly tightened inspections of cargo vehicles at the administrative boundary between occupied Crimea and Kherson region.
Earlier, Atesh had reported the destruction of a vehicle used by Russian drone operators in the occupied Henichesk district of Kherson region.
According to the group, the vehicle was part of a Russian UAV unit and was outfitted with electronic warfare equipment.
