Russian Strike on Kharkiv Hits Densely Populated Area, Wounds More Than a Dozen People
A Russian strike hits Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district, leaving 19 people injured and causing extensive damage to civilian infrastructure, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and regional head Oleh Syniehubov on November 25.
“There has been an explosion in Kharkiv. Be cautious! The strike hit the Kyivskyi district, causing a fire at the impact site,” Terekhov stated.
Syniehubov confirmed that the explosion sparked a blaze along the city’s central streets.
“Emergency services are on-site. Civilian infrastructure and vehicles have been damaged. Casualties have been reported, and emergency medical teams are working at the scene,” he said.
Out of the 19 injured, 9 individuals required hospitalization.
Terekhov added that the Russians hit a densely populated residential area, and courtyards surrounded by high-rise buildings.
“The impact caused fires in outbuildings and vehicles,” the mayor added.
At 10:05 a.m. Kharkiv’s mayor reported that Russian forces reportedly used S-400 anti-air missile to hit Kharkiv and wounded 19 people.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) revealed fragments of the newly developed Russian Oreshnik Intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which struck the city of Dnipro on November 21.
