Russian forces launched a massive attack on the village of Stepanivka, part of the Kherson city community, killing a 69-year-old woman and injuring several civilians, including three children.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Regional Military Administration and City Military Administration on October 6, the shelling targeted private homes of residents. One of the Russian shells struck two houses where families with children were living.

A 69-year-old local woman was killed in her own home.

Two girls, aged 12 and 16, along with their parents—a 37-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man—were hospitalized with concussions, blast injuries, and closed head trauma. Their condition is reported as moderate, and doctors are providing all necessary medical care.

Later, it became known that another child was injured in the morning shelling—a girl aged two years and eleven months. She also suffered a concussion, blast injuries, and a closed head trauma and is currently under medical supervision.

Earlier, Russian forces launched another attack on the city of Sumy, striking a perinatal center and setting its roof on fire while patients and newborns were inside.

According to Presidential Office head Andriy Yermak, 11 infants, 35 patients, and 120 medical staff were in the building at the time of the strike. All were safely evacuated to a shelter.
