Russian forces have once again attacked the city of Sumy. As a result of the strike, the roof of a perinatal center caught fire while patients and newborns were inside.

The attack was reported by Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and Artem Kobzar, acting mayor of Sumy, on October 6.

“The explosion everyone in the city heard was a strike on a healthcare facility. Preliminary reports indicate it was an Italmas  drone. Fortunately, everyone was in the shelter, so there are no casualties,” Kobzar said.

According to Yermak, 11 infants, 35 patients, and 120 staff members were inside the perinatal center at the time of the attack. All managed to reach the shelter in time.

Kobzar also warned residents about the threat of a repeated drone strike.
