Russian Troops Deliberately Shoot Civilian Cyclist in Donetsk Village

On July 22, Ukrainian forces reported that a civilian was shot and killed by Russian troops in the village of Torske, located in the eastern Donetsk region.

According to a statement from the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the victim was riding a bicycle at the time of the incident.

The brigade claims the act was intentional and was captured on video by Ukrainian military personnel in the area. The statement described the shooting as deliberate, alleging that the Russian soldiers fired additional rounds to ensure the civilian’s death.

“The fact that Russians are murderers and degenerates is no secret. But it’s rare to capture such inhumane acts live. This time we did – the Russians in Torske shot a civilian, deliberately and with finishing shots,” the brigade said in its official communication.

In response, Ukrainian drone operators and artillery units reportedly located and killed the three Russian soldiers involved.

Despite repeated attempts by Russian forces to take control of Torske, Ukrainian troops have maintained their positions. The small village, part of the so-called “Lyman Salient,” plays a key defensive role in preventing Russian advances toward Siversk, Lyman, and Sloviansk. Ukrainian forces liberated Torske in October 2022 during a counteroffensive.

Previously, it was reported that Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate released a radio intercept in which a Russian commander from the 155th Separate Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet is heard ordering the execution of one of his own wounded soldiers.
