Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) has released a radio intercept in which a Russian commander from the 155th Separate Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet is heard ordering the execution of one of his own wounded soldiers, as was reported by Hromadske on July 19.

The audio, made public on July 19, captures the officer stating: “Shoot him… There are no sick in the Marine Corps — only the living and the dead. He has no other options. I order you to shoot him if he doesn’t move.”

According to HUR, the order was issued during active combat operations and is part of an established pattern in which Russian field commanders use summary executions to maintain discipline and force compliance.

“These are not isolated incidents,” HUR said in a statement. “Commanders use threats of execution as their primary method of control when morale collapses and losses mount.”

The 155th Brigade has been repeatedly linked to war crimes committed during the Russian occupation of the Kyiv region and other areas of active hostilities. The unit suffered heavy casualties in Vuhledar and Avdiivka and has become a focal point for Russian military bloggers documenting battlefield failures.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces reportedly destroyed a Russian Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system worth an estimated $2.5 million using a precision drone strike. Footage released on July 18 showed the system being hit in the Zaporizhzhia region while it was actively attempting to intercept aerial threats.
