On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian commanders have been sending assault groups to positions already occupied by their own units, as reported by the partisan movement ATESH on Telegram on December 19.

According to agents from the 1441st Motorized Rifle Brigade, there have been significant management errors in the assault operations due to a lack of proper coordination and awareness of the actual situation. This has led to multiple instances where assault groups were sent to areas already controlled by their own forces.

One of the agents, who joined the movement just a few days ago, provided details of the most recent incident.

“The group was sent on a night assault without accurate coordinates and without an updated map of troop positions. The soldiers carried out the task, fought, and conducted a sweep. However, upon examining the bodies, it was discovered that they were soldiers from a neighboring unit,” the statement read.

According to the partisan movement, the command attempted to attribute the incident to a “map error” and “shifting frontlines,” but the personnel involved understand that it was the result of disorganization in leadership and a complete lack of control over the situation.

Previously, ATESH reported that Russian soldiers are paying their commanders to avoid combat on the Zaporizhzhia front.

The soldiers have apparently created a system within their unit where they pay their commanders about $525 in cash each month. In return, they are kept away from the front lines and instead assigned to duties at the headquarters or given fictitious internal tasks.
