Ukrainian paratroopers from the 81st Separate Slobozhanska Airborne Brigade destroyed a Russian boat during an attempted river crossing over the Siverskyi Donets, the brigade said on December 24.

According to the unit, Russian forces were attempting to move personnel across the river and establish positions on the opposite bank. Ukrainian troops detected the target in time and destroyed the boat, along with a Russian servicemember who tried to hide along the shoreline.

The brigade noted that fighting along this sector of the front remains intense. Despite the difficult conditions, Ukrainian forces continue to disrupt Russian maneuvers using modern technology and coordinated drone operations.

Thanks to the effective use of unmanned systems and close coordination between drone operators and frontline units, Ukrainian troops have been able to strike Russian forces regardless of the tactics being employed.

Earlier, Ukrainian marines from the 40th Coastal Defense Brigade stopped an attempted Russian landing on the Dnipro River, destroying a boat carrying an assault group that was moving toward Ukrainian positions.
