Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has killed more than 100 civilian medical workers in Ukraine while they were providing care to patients.

Health Minister Viktor Liashko reported this during the international conference "United for Justice: Accountability for the Attacks on Civilian Objects."

"More than 100 medical workers have been killed by Russian terrorists at civilian healthcare facilities. This number does not include those serving in the Armed Forces or those who have stayed in temporarily occupied territories," said the Health Minister.

Additionally, during the full-scale invasion, 1,887 medical facilities have been damaged due to Russian shelling, with another 216 buildings being beyond repair.

According to the World Bank, at least $7 billion is needed to restore these medical facilities.

"The cost of restoring our healthcare system is extraordinarily high. However, we understand that the medical system is primarily about people—our healthcare workers—who from the very first day of the full-scale war have continued to work, vaccinate, treat, save lives, and get their patients back on their feet," the Health Minister added.

Viktor Liashko also noted that the Russian army is attacking emergency medical service vehicles, which are continually under threat in frontline regions. As a result, over 500 vehicles have been either completely destroyed or stolen by Russian forces.

"584 vehicles have been identified as losses in the emergency medical service system. This accounts for every fifth vehicle," the minister stated.
