According to Sky News, Russia is expected to receive a shipment of ballistic missiles from Iran in the near future. The agreement, signed last December, involves the delivery of two types of short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.

Military analyst Sean Bell stated that the supply of ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia seems “inevitable.” He noted that this will increase Russia’s missile inventory, potentially allowing them to concentrate their limited stock of Iskander missiles on long-range targets. Bell also highlighted that recent Russian military training in Iran suggests that the delivery of the weapons is imminent.

Iran is set to deliver two types of short-range ballistic missiles to Russia. This development represents a significant expansion of Russia’s missile capabilities, which could impact their existing missile strategy. Analysts are concerned that this will enhance Russia’s military potential and increase the threat to distant targets.

Earlier reports from Bloomberg and Reuters indicated that an arms transfer between Iran and Russia was imminent. Bloomberg noted that European officials expect Iran to deliver ballistic missiles to Russia soon. Previous deliveries from Iran to Russia have included drones, and the introduction of missiles marks a new phase in their military collaboration.

Reuters reported that Iran is preparing to deliver hundreds of ballistic missiles, including the Fath-360 and Ababil systems. This transfer could alter Russia’s tactics by allowing it to reserve its existing missile arsenal for long-range engagements while using Iranian systems for closer-range targets. This development is part of a broader strategic partnership between the two nations.
