Russia’s wealthiest individuals have gained a combined $22.5 billion since the start of 2024, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The global ranking, which tracks the 500 richest people in the world, currently includes 22 Russians with a total net worth of $317.7 billion as of June 2.
Metals tycoon Vladimir Potanin remains the richest Russian, with his fortune rising by $3.82 billion since January to $31.7 billion. He is followed by Lukoil founder Vagit Alekperov, whose wealth increased by $561 million to $25.9 billion. In third place is mining magnate Vladimir Lisin, whose net worth stands at $24.2 billion, despite a $1.62 billion decline this year.
Fertilizer magnate and AS Monaco football club owner Dmitry Rybolovlev recorded the biggest loss, with his fortune falling by $1.77 billion to $9.21 billion, placing him among the bottom five Russians on the list.
Tatiana Kim, Russia’s wealthiest woman, lost $597 million and ranks 21st among Russian billionaires with a net worth of $6.77 billion—just ahead of metals tycoon Iskander Makhmudov, whose $6.74 billion places him last, despite gaining $3.61 billion since January.

Makhmudov was among the year’s top gainers alongside Alisher Usmanov, whose fortune grew by $3.7 billion to $16.9 billion, making him Russia’s seventh-richest billionaire. Senator Suleiman Kerimov added $3 billion to reach $10 billion, while industrialist Viktor Vekselberg earned $2.25 billion to hit $9.54 billion. Tech entrepreneur Pavel Durov also saw gains, adding $2.03 billion and ranking 10th with a total of $13 billion.
Rounding out the top five after Potanin, Alekperov, and Lisin are Novatek chairman Leonid Mikhelson—up $860 million to $23.2 billion—and industrialist Alexei Mordashov, whose fortune declined by $598 million to $22.6 billion.
Previously in February, it was reported that 42 out of 90 Russian billionaires, top managers, and their family members who sought to have international sanctions lifted after the war in Ukraine began have been successful.
