Six Killed, Over a Dozen Injured as Russian Strikes Devastate Donetsk and Kherson Regions

At least six people were killed and more than a dozen wounded as Russian forces launched heavy attacks on Ukraine’s Donetsk and Kherson regions, local authorities confirmed on March 13.

This morning, Russian troops targeted the town of Beryslav in Kherson using drones. A 68-year-old man was killed, and an 85-year-old resident was hospitalized with blast injuries, a concussion, and the amputation of his foot, according to Kherson regional governor Oleksandr Proskudin.

Meanwhile, Russian forces shelled Donetsk region 44 times overnight, killing five people and injuring 12 others, Donetsk regional governor Vadym Filashkin reported.

According to Filashkin, the city of Pokrovsk was hit around 11 am, killing a 38-year-old man and damaging an administrative building.

Around the same time, Mirnohrad came under fire, where two people were killed and one injured.

Later in the afternoon, between 3 and 4 pm, Russian forces dropped 11 aerial bombs on Kostiantynivka, killing two civilians and wounding eight others. The strikes damaged multiple apartment buildings and private homes.

Additionally, Druzhkivka was targeted three times by Russian airstrikes. The attacks injured three civilians, including two children, aged 8 and 9, and damaged 32 buildings, including apartment complexes, private homes, a dormitory, and several cars.

Earlier, a Russian ballistic missile struck the bulk carrier MJ Pinar while it was docked at the Odesa port, killing four crew members, including three Syrian nationals.

The Barbados-flagged vessel was preparing to depart for Algeria, loaded with 30,000 tons of wheat when the missile hit. The attack ignited a fire on board and caused severe damage from shrapnel.
