South Korean actor and former K-pop idol Yim Si-wan, known for his role in the second season of Squid Game, extended support to Ukraine and local businesses at the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022.

On March 4, 2022, Yim shared a screenshot on Instagram showing his reservation of a Kyiv apartment through Airbnb.

"Hello, I just booked your hotel for a month and of course, I’m not gonna be visiting. Hope you and the people in Kyiv stay safe," Yim said.

South Korean media later reported that Yim also donated 20 million Korean won (approximately $16,435) to the Embassy of Ukraine in South Korea.

Yim Si-wan is a former member of the boy band ZE:A and actor. In Squid Game season two, he plays Player 333, a former cryptocurrency influencer who faces personal financial ruin.

Previosuly, it was reported that actor and activist Liev Schreiber has officially joined the Oscar-shortlisted documentary ‘Once Upon a Time in Ukraine’ as an executive producer.
