S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Tops Worldwide Sales Charts Hours Ahead of Release
The Ukrainian game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl has been ranked first in sales worldwide hours before its release, according to the Steam gaming platform.
Earlier, the game was second in the ranking, outpaced only by free-to-play Counter-Strike 2, but now Ukrainian development tops the charts of sales on the biggest digital PC gaming platform in the world.
The long-awaited sequel to the game, which the fans expected for 15 years will be released at 11 a.m. EST in the US, 4 p.m. London time and 6 p.m. Kyiv time. The game would be released for PC and Xbox Series consoles.
The game, like its predecessors, is taking place in the Ukrainian city of Chornobyl, located only 90 kilometers North of Kyiv in Ukraine, which was abandoned after the nuclear disaster at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant; the worst nuclear disaster in history.
Earlier, Russian authorities issued a warning regarding the potential legal repercussions of purchasing the upcoming video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, developed by Ukrainian GSC Game World.
