Sweden Greenlights $140M Military Package for Ukraine With Archer Artillery

The Swedish government has approved a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $140 million, Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson announced via X on July 3.
The package includes key components for the Archer self-propelled artillery system, long-range capabilities, underwater equipment, and enhanced logistics support.
“The government has made the decision to allocate 1.5 billion SEK from support package 18 & 19 towards new military abilities for Ukraine,” he said.

According to the Defense Minister, the new military package includes over 10 additional Archer artillery barrels, enhanced long-range strike and underwater capabilities, as well as expanded logistical support.
The aid will also feature Volvo and Scania trucks, along with a modern container system designed to speed up and secure the unloading of defense equipment in frontline conditions.
Earlier, it was reported that the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency is contributing a new $14.5 million aid package under the Tallinn Mechanism—an international effort uniting 11 partner nations to bolster cyber resilience.
