Taurus Missile Transfer to Ukraine “Within Possibility,” Says German Chancellor

The potential delivery of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine remains under consideration, though no final decision has been made, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on May 28.
Speaking on the ZDF television channel, Merz acknowledged the possibility, stating, “Of course, that’s within the realm of possibility.”
However, he noted that deploying the missiles would require extensive preparation.
“We have always said, I have said it myself, that the Taurus requires several months of training for soldiers in Ukraine,” Merz added.

On May 28, Merz stated during a joint conference with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that Germany and Ukraine will sign a memorandum for the purchase of Ukrainian-made long-range weapons systems.
At the same time, Merz avoided directly answering a question about possible Taurus missile deliveries: “We will maintain and increase our military assistance.”
Previously, it was revealed that the new German government has decided to significantly limit the release of information regarding future arms shipments to Ukraine.
