On Wednesday, August 28, the Paris court ordered the release of Pavel Durov, the founder and head of Telegram, from custody, under which he was under investigation due to his refusal to cooperate with French law enforcement officers.

This was reported by the BFMTV channel.

The investigative judge of Paris, as noted, decided to release Durov. The move could mean that the founder of Telegram will be questioned, after which charges may be announced.

French authorities issued arrest warrants for Telegram CEO Pavel Durov and his co-founder brother Nikolai in March, months earlier than previously known, over Telegram's refusal to assist with a French police inquiry into child sexual abuse.
