US President Donald Trump assured that Ukraine will be part of upcoming negotiations aimed at ending the war, while also advocating for Russia’s reinstatement in the G7.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on February 13, Trump addressed both issues, emphasizing the need for diplomatic engagement.

When asked whether Ukraine would be included in future talks, Trump responded:

“Of course, they will. They are part of this. We will have Ukraine, we’ll have Russia, and we’ll have other people involved too. A lot of people—there are a lot of folks in this game, I’ll tell you that. This is a very interesting situation, but the Ukraine war has to end.”

Trump also confirmed that a high-level meeting involving representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States is set to take place in Munich on February 14.

“They’re having a meeting in Munich tomorrow. Russia will be there with our people. Ukraine is also invited,” Trump told reporters. “I’m not sure exactly who will be there from each country, but there will be high-level representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States.”

Alongside his push for diplomatic talks, Trump reiterated his stance on Russia’s return to the Group of Seven (G7), calling its 2014 expulsion a mistake.

“I’d love to have them back. I think it was a mistake to throw them out. Look, it’s not a question of liking Russia or not liking Russia. It was the G8,” Trump said.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that if the United States and Russia engage in talks about ending the war without Ukraine’s participation, Kyiv will not recognize any such agreements.
