Ukraine Won’t Accept US-Russia Talks Without Its Involvement, Says Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that if the United States and Russia engage in talks about ending the war without Ukraine’s participation, Kyiv will not recognize any such agreements, according to European Pravda on February 13.
During his visit to the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of preventing the situation from unfolding according to Vladimir Putin’s plan, in which Russia seeks direct negotiations solely with the US.
“As an independent country, we simply cannot accept any agreements made without us. I have made this very clear to our partners. Any bilateral negotiations about Ukraine—excluding other topics, on which they are free to negotiate—will not be accepted by us,” Zelenskyy stated.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that he expects to meet Russian leader Vladimir Putin, with their first face-to-face meeting likely to take place in Saudi Arabia.
