President-elect Donald Trump has nominated General Keith Kellogg as Assistant to the President and Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, announcing the decision on his Truth Social platform on November 27.

"I am very pleased to nominate General Keith Kellogg to serve as Assistant to the President and Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia," Trump said.

He mentioned that Kellogg has led a distinguished military and business career, including serving in highly sensitive national security roles in his first administration, and noted that Kellogg was with him "right from the beginning."

"Together, we will secure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH and make America, and the world, SAFE AGAIN!" he added.

Joseph Keith Kellogg Jr. is a retired US Army lieutenant general and former government official. He served as National Security Advisor to Vice President Mike Pence and as Chief of Staff of the National Security Council during Trump’s first administration, briefly acting as National Security Advisor after Michael T. Flynn's resignation.

Previously, President-elect Donald Trump stated that his administration will focus on Russia's war against Ukraine, promising to end the war in 24 hours.
