The United Kingdom has recently delivered dozens of Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine, marking the first such supply under Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Bloomberg reported on November 26.

The resupply carried out discreetly several weeks ago, comes as Kyiv faces a shortage of long-range missiles amid intensified strikes against Russian targets, according to sources familiar with the matter.

“We do not comment on operational detail, to do so would only benefit Vladimir Putin,” the UK Ministry of Defence stated, adding that Britain’s support for Ukraine remains “ironclad.”

The missiles arrived before London and Washington approved Ukraine’s use of long-range munitions against targets inside Russia.

Ukrainian forces used Storm Shadows in strikes against Russian military facilities in Bryansk last week, shortly after utilizing US-supplied Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS).

As confirmed by officials from both governments, Moscow’s deployment of North Korean troops to assist its forces in Ukraine led to the decision to permit such operations.

Western leaders see these deliveries as a means to strengthen Kyiv’s negotiating position ahead of potential peace talks.

At the G20 summit in Brazil on November 20, Starmer reiterated his government’s unwavering support for Ukraine, stating that Britain was “doubling down” on its aid but refrained from revealing specific measures.

Earlier, On November 20, a Storm Shadow missile strike hit a command facility in the village of Mariino, Kursk region, Russia, resulting in significant casualties among Russian forces. Reportedly 500 North Korean soldiers were killed in the strike with a North Korean general sustaining injuries.
