According to GEOINT analysts from the Ukrainian project CyberBoroshno, the attack occurred in the early hours of November 25, targeting the Kursk-East tactical aviation airfield.

Images shared by the project show the detonation of submunitions from two M39 missiles equipped with cluster warheads over the airfield. Analysts have geolocated the impact zones to areas near the aircraft parking facilities. However, it remains unclear if any aircraft were stationed there at the time of the strike.

While official Ukrainian military sources have not commented on the strike, several Russian aviation-linked bloggers, including the Ilya Tumanov, confirmed the incident.

Tumanov claimed that eight missiles were launched. He stated that the airfield’s air defense systems attempted to intercept seven of them, though this does not confirm successful interceptions.

Earlier, on November 20, a Storm Shadow missile strike targeted a command facility in Mariino, Kursk region, reportedly killing 500 North Korean soldiers and 18 Russian officers. The attack, confirmed by geolocation footage, marked the first use of Storm Shadow missiles on Russian territory and aimed to disrupt enemy command structures in the area.
