UK to Deliver AS90 Artillery Howitzers to Ukraine, Exceeding Initial Pledge

Great Britain to send a batch of AS90 self-propelled artillery howitzers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was stated in the press release of the British Ministry of Defense.

The announcement comes as the UK speeds up the delivery of vital military support, with the new government set to surpass its pledge of delivering 12 AS90 artillery guns within 100 days of taking office. Currently, 10 such howitzers have already been delivered to Ukraine, and in the coming weeks, the Armed Forces will receive 6 more.

AS-90 is a British 155-mm armored self-propelled artillery installation, created by a division of BAE Systems - Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering.

The government has also announced a new joint Ukraine unit between the MOD and FCDO , led by Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Defense Secretary John Healey. This unit is planned to combine expertise and promote a comprehensive, whole-of-government approach to supporting Ukraine.
