Ukraine took an important step towards membership in the European Union when it ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.

“Today, the Ukrainian Parliament ratified the Rome Statute. Ukraine has become the 125th member of the International Criminal Court,“ Kuleba wrote.

Kuleba also reminded that Ukraine is already effectively cooperating with the International Criminal Court in order to ensure comprehensive responsibility for Russian atrocities committed during Russian aggression.

“With the ratification of the Rome Statute, Ukraine also took another significant step toward joining the EU,“ the Minister concluded.

Earlier today, the Ukrainian parliamentarians supported the draft law on the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
