President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United Kingdom on March 17, beginning his visit with an audience with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace.

Following the audience, the President addressed members of the UK Parliament, framing his speech as part of ongoing efforts to rally international support and strengthen global defense.

British officials acknowledged the courage and determination of the Ukrainian people in defending against Russia’s full-scale invasion, while emphasizing that a just and lasting peace has not yet been achieved.

Zelenskyy’s address was part of Ukraine’s ongoing effort to rally international support and modernize its defense through strategic partnerships.

“Strong support for Ukraine, strict sanctions against Russia, and powerful joint defense projects are the only foundations for effective diplomacy to end this war. Aggressors do not stop wars because they suddenly want to. They stop when they can no longer continue,” the President stated during his speech.

The Ukrainian leader warned about the rapid evolution of global threats, specifically the integration of drones and artificial intelligence into modern warfare.

He highlighted the urgent need for proactive defense and international collaboration to protect cities, critical infrastructure, and vital global shipping routes from these advancing technologies.

The President concluded with an appeal for deep cooperation, stating that Europe and its allies must build modern defense systems together to ensure that no capital has to hide under drone nets or live under constant threat.

He expressed his gratitude to the United Kingdom for its steadfast support, noting that “Our agreements are always reliable. And I am glad that today we signed a declaration with the Prime Minister.”

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine had deployed 201 specialists in countering Shahed drones to the Middle East.

These military experts, who had already begun operations in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, provided practical assistance in defending against Iranian-made UAVs.

During his address, the President emphasized that this move was part of a broader technological partnership strategy that Ukraine had offered to its allies, including the United States, based on the experience gained during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
