According to the Coordination Headquarters, the returned Ukrainians had fought on several key frontlines of the war, including the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. Some of them also took part in the defense of the port city of Mariupol during the early months of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

After returning to Ukraine, the released prisoners will be transported to medical centers where they will undergo medical examinations, treatment and rehabilitation. Authorities said they will also receive necessary assistance, have their documents restored and obtain the payments due to them.
