Ukraine’s General Staff has for the first time confirmed the use of domestically-produced Flamingo and Bars long-range weapons during coordinated overnight strikes on Russian military infrastructure in occupied Crimea, the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, and several sites inside Russia.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the operation took place in the early hours of November 13 and involved “strike UAVs, reactive drones, and missiles of various types,” including the Ukrainian-made Flamingo cruise missile, the Bars system, and the Lutyi drone.

In its statement, the General Staff said that Ukrainian forces conducted a series of long-range launches “using the Flamingo, Bars, and Liutyi” systems. The announcement included footage of night-time missile launches.

According to the General Staff, several high-value military facilities in occupied Crimea were hit, including the “Morskoy Neftyanoy Terminal” oil storage facility, a helicopter parking area and UAV storage and preparation sites at the Kirovske airfield, and an air-defense radar installation near Yevpatoria.

In the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian forces struck an oil depot near Berdyansk, as well as the forward command posts of Russia’s 5th Combined Arms Army and the 127th Motor Rifle Division. The General Staff added that additional targets were struck inside Russia, though the extent of the damage is still being assessed.

The Flamingo is a Ukrainian long-range cruise missile with a stated reach of up to 3,000 kilometers. According to publicly available data cited by Ukrainian officials, the missile carries a warhead weighing about one tonne and cruises at 850–950 km/h.

The Bars system and the Liutyi UAV—also developed in Ukraine—were used alongside Flamingo as part of a broader strategy to degrade Russia’s military infrastructure across occupied and Russian territory.

The General Staff emphasized that the combination of strike UAVs, reactive drones, and missile systems allows the Defense Forces to conduct “complex, multi-vector” attacks.

The overnight operation follows a series of recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian logistics, oil depots, airfields, and radar installations across occupied Crimea and mainland Russia. According to earlier reporting by Ukrainian outlets, explosions were heard in Oryol during the night, with local authorities claiming an attack by unidentified aerial systems.
