Russia Acknowledges Use of Ukraine’s New Flamingo Missiles in Strikes on Its Territory

Russian Telegram channels claimed that Ukraine used its domestically produced FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles in recent strikes against targets inside Russia. The allegations appeared in two propaganda-linked channels—Voivoda Veshchaet and Kirill Fyodorov / War History Weapons—though neither specified when or where the missiles were used, nor when the accompanying photos were taken, Ukrainian defense outlet Militarnyi reported on October 8.
Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that both the Neptune and Flamingo cruise missile systems had been employed in a combined strike against Russian territory last week.

“And in the past week—I won’t give numbers—we have used our Neptune—Flamingo pair. The corresponding results can be analyzed independently. We are not talking about en masse use of this pair. We are only saying that it has been used, and there are initial signs of such success with this particular weapon.”
Zelenskyy did not disclose which specific targets were hit.
In early September, reports emerged that Flamingo missiles had struck a Russian FSB Border Service facility near Armyansk in occupied Crimea.

🤔 It seems that there are problems with accuracy, because the FSB facility was destroyed by drones, not a missile. pic.twitter.com/9U5Yk57I4L
The Flamingo first surfaced publicly on August 17, when Associated Press photojournalist Efrem Lukatsky posted the first images of the missile on Facebook.
The system is reportedly produced at a rate of one missile per day, with output expected to increase as production ramps up. Despite its range and payload, the missile costs under €1 million per unit.
Earlier, Ukrainian defense firm Fire Point, the maker of the strategic Flamingo cruise missile, announced its development of two new ballistic missiles—FP-7 and FP-9—alongside plans for advanced air defense systems.
