Ukraine Confirms Strikes on Three Russian Fuel Depots in Occupied Crimea Overnight–General Staff

Explosions and large fires occurred overnight on 5–6 November at several fuel storage sites in occupied Crimea, including facilities near Simferopol and Hvardiyske. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attacks, while Russian Telegram channels reported fires following the flight of drones over the peninsula.
According to the Telegram channel Krymskiy Veter, residents in the Simferopol district heard explosions around 02:17 local time, after which a fire broke out at an oil depot, reportedly belonging to Krymneftesbyt near the settlement of Bitumnoye.
“Before the fire, drones flew over,” the channel said. Other posts mentioned visible flames in Hvardiyske and near the Simferopol power station.
The General Staff stated that Ukrainian Defense Forces struck three fuel and lubricant (PMM) facilities in occupied Crimea “to reduce the enemy’s logistical capabilities.”
The statement specified that one depot in Hvardiyske was hit, damaging a tank and tankers at a loading platform, while two other fuel bases in Simferopol were struck, igniting reservoirs of fuel.

“Defense Forces continue to carry out a set of measures to destroy critical elements of the aggressor state’s military-industrial infrastructure on its territory and in the temporarily occupied areas, to deprive the enemy of offensive capabilities,” the General Staff said.
No official comment has yet been issued by Russian authorities. Visual materials posted on social media show heavy fire and plumes of smoke near the reported locations.
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian forces carried out a long‑planned operation targeting a storage, assembly and launch complex for “Shahed” drones inside the occupied Donetsk Airport in the Donetsk region, destroying the facility.
